Helena's Story
The big shipyard in Uddevalla on the west-coast of Sweden was closed down in 1986 and left an empty industrial area and people without work. The years passed, and one summer day in 2012 we returned, and we were astonished. The area was transformed to a place for recreation. On the old concrete piers there were people of different ages and etnicities. Maybe coming there on a free day like us, or just after work. They had a common interest; to catch mackerels. It was a very nice experience to see people coming on a bike or by car with a fish rod and bait and relax together.
